Andre ChenFeng

Andre is an advocate for healing-centered education. He is a Ph.D. student at Claremont Graduate University with a focus on integrating contemplative practices and intersectional feminist theories into higher education, specifically around liberation-based healing with teacher educators of color. He is also an adjunct faculty member at CGU in the Teacher Education Program. Andre earned his Associate of Arts from Pasadena City College, as well as his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles. For twelve years, he taught seventh and eighth grade mathematics in Los Angeles. In his spare time, he enjoys watching This Is Us with his wife and reading books about big emotions with his son and daughter. In 2018, Andre was a part of the very first cohort of TEL. He attributes the beginnings of his own radical healing as a teacher of color to TEL, as well as providing him with a community that encourages and sustains his personal transformation toward the goal of collective liberation.
