Annie O’Shaughnessy

Annie is an educator and consultant from Vermont. Annie began sharing circle practices in the early 90s leading retreats around the country and with loved ones. It was during these extended circle experiences that she developed a deep, experiential understanding of how circles worked to create the conditions for authenticity, healing, and restoration. The power of mindfulness became clear while working at a therapeutic school for teenagers and while recovering from a brain injury. When colleagues asked them to share what Annie was doing in her classroom that made students want to be there, she agreed. This led to workshops, seminars and a graduate course for teachers. Soon schools were calling for support to implement restorative practices and mindfulness. A deep love for teachers and students and faith in the inherent goodness of our true nature drives her work. Annie currently consults full time as president of True Nature Teaching.
