Curtiss Sarikey

Curtiss is currently Chief Partnerships Officer, following six years as the Chief of Staff and five years as the Deputy Chief of Community Schools and Student Services, with the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD). He brings over thirty years of experience working with children, families and communities. He was also Senior Director with the Stuart Foundation from 2016-17 where he led work for the Foundation on educator leadership, labor management collaboration, and state level policy. He was adjunct faculty for University of San Francisco School Counseling Program where he taught courses in family engagement and school consultation.

Curtiss spent 10 years with San Francisco Unified School District as a school social worker and supervisor. Curtiss also has extensive experience in family violence, trauma, youth development and family therapy. He is currently a Steering Committee member for the National Coalition for Community Schools, Vice Chair Californians Dedicated to Education Foundation, Senior Advisor Community Schools Learning Exchange, UCLA Center for Community Schooling, Community Schooling, Editorial Board, Board of Advisors Niroga Institute, and Circle of Advisors Center for Ecoliteracy. In 2016 Curtiss was awarded the Community Schools Initiative Leadership Award from the National Coalition for Community Schools.

Curtiss has consulted with cities and school districts across the country in areas of collective impact, community schools and social emotional learning. He received a BA from the State University of New York at Geneseo and a Masters of Social Welfare from the University of California at Berkeley. He is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and has education pupil services and administrative credentials from San Francisco State University and Sonoma State University.
