Lori Ostrander

Lori currently works in Curriculum and Staff Development serving 16 rural school districts via a cooperative education service (BOCES) in Central New York State. After a tenure as English teacher, she now specializes in literacy. She introduced Mindfulness to the 16 districts in 2015 in response to emerging needs for social-emotional learning and wellness. Her team is currently exploring a trauma-informed approach to school. She is especially interested in the intersection among literacy development, rural poverty, social identity construction, cultural bias, and schooling.
