Paris Priore-Kim
Paris’ passion for education is rooted in some of her earliest childhood experiences – those that were challenging and unsettling, as well as those that were inspiring and steeped in care. Being in classrooms in Hawaiʻi and in Switzerland as a child, and having learned so much outside the classroom in each of those places, has informed her view of what constitutes both learning environments and learning objectives. The jagged route through some earlier careers that led her to education has also shaped her view of education’s purpose, which includes social, emotional, and ethical learning.
Twenty years ago, she began as a middle school Social Studies teacher at Punahou School in Honolulu when teaming and advisory were just starting there. She has been there since, serving subsequently as the Associate Director of the Luke Center for Public Service, as an Academy Dean, and currently as Principal of the lower school (K-8).
