Rachel Mills-Brantley

Rachel is Co–Developer of the Be CALM Program, a middle school program for strengthening educators’ co-regulation skills and students’ self-regulation skills using mindful awareness practices and cognitive-behavioral strategies. Rachel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with almost 20 years of experience working for and with North Carolina public schools as a social worker, parent advocate, mental health clinician, behavior interventionist, and Be CALM Program coach. Most recently, she founded the social entrepreneurial business, Mindfully FIERCE, to engage educators in programs and practices that prioritize human dignity, compassion, justice, equity, and belonging in schools. Rachel grew up in rural Illinois and her graduating high school class had a mere 52 students. She now resides in Chapel Hill, NC, with her spouse and their 5-year-old and 3-year-old sons. She loves to camp, read, meditate, walk with her dog, swim, play, and socialize with family and friends, old and new.
