Sarah Matteo

Once upon a time, Sarah Matteo studied Child Development, Human Ecology and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education and tried this out in the world as a public school teacher, talent recruiter and education consultant for many years. It turns out she is into other things. She found working in high need, low resourced urban school communities both profoundly inspiring and deeply heartbreaking. Through her experience in student advocacy, teaching and teacher mentorship, curriculum and program development, and the late experience of coming alive, she came to Interspiritual Counseling as a new avenue for service in education. As a soul-centric teacher coach, she is most interested in intersections between spiritual resilience and social justice and find self-authorship for students and staff a fascinating key. In advocacy for a learner-centered stance, she insists the most crucial curriculum in all pursuits is the content of our own inner landscape.
