Sunghie Park Okino
Sunghie Park Okino, IUSD Coordinator of Prevention and Intervention, has focused on integrating academic, behavioral, and social-emotional learning and supports to meet the needs of the whole child. Dr. Okino received recognition for her transformational work with schools as California's 2014 National Distinguished Principal. She brings 19 years of school site administrative experience working in collaboration with teams and the community to move organizations forward. She has been a presenter at ACSA’s Every Student Counts Symposium, the national CUE conference focused on the use of technology in learning, and the Cotsen STEAM Conference. Dr. Okino has trained principals in Guangzhou, China on Professional Learning Communities and NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards). She worked as a Legislative Analyst for the California State Legislative Budget Committee and co-authored “The Eco-tech Collaborative Academy: Re-imagine High School” which earned semi-finalist status as part of the 2016 XQ Super Schools Project.
